Made as a companion
to the plywood bowl the vase represents the tall and slender (feminine)
opposed to the short and fat (masculine) bowl.
It was made by
first boring a one inch diameter hole in each of the ¾"
laminations. The pieces were glued together around a removable core.
When that dried the core was removed and two caps were glued to the
ends. After turning the form I cut the top off and treated the mouth
by hand.
It is finished
with 6 layers of Minwax wipe on poly glossy. And a final coat of Minway
wipe on poly satin.
