Yesterday Chris was replacing the back-up battery in one of the smoke detectors and Ava asked why it was beeping. We explained to her what the detector was for and why it beeps. Then, without having been told this, she said that if there were a fire we would have to jump out the front door so we won''t get hurt.

Then, this morning she told me that rainy days were best spent watching movies. Right she is.
