Chris and I took an 8 day no baby vacation to southern California Aug 8-16th. His parents were generous enough to keep the girls for us. We spent the first 4 days in San Diego visiting the desert, Balboa Park, Salk Institute, Getty Institute, the San Diego Zoo, and Torrey Pines. The last four days were spent at a Celebrate Recovery conference in Lake Forest, CA hosted by Saddleback Church (home of Purpose Driven pastor, Rick Warren). Here are a few of the hundreds of photos we took.

Chris on a look out point on our way out to the desert. We saw so many majestic settings. We were very impressed.

Me by a display of Orchids in Balboa Park.

The San Diego Zoo was one of our favorite places. You can get a sense of how small the exhibits are in this photo. I felt bad for the animals.

The Getty Institute was a great (free) place to view about 6 different art exhibits. They had a beautiful garden planted on the back side of the building. Chris got a lot of architectural shots that are worth seeing.

One evening after dinner we went out hunting for some ice cream. After we found it, we fell upon a shore full of seals next to a bridge that was great for viewing the sunset.
