Ava had a great visit today with Dr Wang. The nurse did a hearing and vision test on her as well. The hearing test consisted of Ava putting on a pair of headphones and telling the nurse in which ear she heard the beep. For the vision, Ava wore a funny pair of glasses and looked at a "magic eye" type picture and told the nurse what she saw. She did great for both tests. This was the first visit that they checked her body mass index and blood pressure. Ava has grown 2 inches and gained 6 lbs in the last year. Dr Wang was giving me some suggestions on how to slow/moderate her weight gain. Skim milk was a strong suggestion. He said it wasn't a big deal at this point, but that type of weight gain should not become a pattern. She got one shot in her arm and didn't even cry. Ava was brave, cooperative, and polite. She made this mama really proud.
